Gas Clouds
This is just one of many ideas of how the Universe was formed.
Around 4600 million years ago a huge cloud of dust and gas wirled around the sun.
Gradually the gas and dust joined together forming small ball. These ball kept
getting larger and larger until huge soild dust balls had formed. These balls
became incredibly hot in the center due to the imence preasure caused by the
particals being squashed. One of these balls became Earth. It was continually
hit by meteorites until finally Earth melted from the further heat caused by
the meteorites. The boiling hot Earth began to seperate into layers, heavier
substances such as iron and nickel sank to the core while oxygen and silicon
rose to the outer surface. The Earth eventually cooled forming a crispy shell.
But the core was still fiercely hot which broke the crust of the Earth spewing
out great quantities of lava. Around 3500 million years ago the water vapour in
the atmosphere cooled and turned into liquid, the rain poured down until most of
planet was covered in shallow, dirty water. Scince that time the the water has
continually reshaped the Earth's surface.
